Madhya Pradesh polls: No more MPs, ministers in BJP's remaining list of candidates

In a run-up to the assembly elections in five states, the Bharatiya Janata Party's Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting has been underway in Delhi.

New Delhi [India], October 20 (ANI): In a run-up to the assembly elections in five states, the Bharatiya Janata Party's Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting has been underway in Delhi.
According to party sources, the CEC meeting today has decided to no more field any MP or Minister on the remaining list of candidates in Madhya Pradesh.
As per the sources, the Committee has also finalised the names for the remaining 92 seats out of the total 94 seats.
The sources further said that two ministers have lost their ticket this time.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party's national president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other members of CEC were present in the meeting.
The meeting was convened at the BJP headquarters in the national capital to finalise candidates for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections and the remaining candidates for Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
The Election Commission announced that the first phase of polling for 20 seats in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 7, and the remaining 70 seats in Chhattisgarh will go to polls on November 17.
Polls will be held in Mizoram on November 7, Chhattisgarh on November 7 and November 17, Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 25 and Telangana on November 30. (ANI)
