Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], February 1 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Jagdish Devda welcomed the Union Budget and said that the budget is for "Viksit Bharat and for the public."
The budget 2025-26 was presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on Saturday.
"This budget is for Viksit Bharat and for the public. It is an universal budget in which all the sections have been included villages, poor, farmer, women and youth. It is a budget of fulfilling the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and fulfilling the vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas'. I welcome this budget," Devda told ANI.
He further said that every section of the society has been taken care of in the Budget and a historic budget was presented in the Lok Sabha.
"First Congress should read the budget honestly and then speak. They are frustrated after seeing the budget," he said.
Meanwhile, Congress leader and deputy leader of opposition Hemant Katare criticised the Budget and called it an election-centric budget.
"The budget has been prepared keeping the elections in focus. It contains neither anything for the unemployed people nor for the farmers. The budget was prepared keeping the capitalists in view and it hit on the shoulders of the middle class people. We condemn this entire budget," Katare said.
"The government has cheated the farmers. They promised to double the income of farmers but have increased the kisan credit card limit. Is the government trying to push farmers in more debt? By increasing the loan limit, the government has proved that the income of farmers has not doubled. They had promised to provide employment to 2 crore youth but there is nothing in the budget for the youth," he added.
State cabinet minister Rakesh Singh expressed pleasure over the Union Budget, stating that it was a historic budget which concerns every section of society in the country.
"It is a historic budget and a budget that concerns every section of society, which fulfills their aspirations and expectations in the country. I believe people would not have thought that the Prime Minister would fulfill the hopes and expectations of the country's middle class people with such sensitivity," Singh said.
The budget fulfills the hopes and expectations of every section of society, be it startups, youth, laborers, women or elderly people, he added.
Expressing happiness over Union Budget, MP Minister Krishna Gaur said that the budget is for the all-round development of the country and to provide relief to every section of the society.
"I am happy that today our Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the union budget in the parliament. It is the budget for the all-round development of the country. There are all the provisions in the budget to realize the mantra that the Prime Minister has given us for the welfare of farmers, youth, women and poor people of the country," Gaur said.
She further said, "A lot of relief has been given to middle-class families in the budget. Today's budget is a budget for the all-round development of the country and it is going to provide relief to every class of the society. I congratulate PM Modi and our Union Finance Minister Sitharaman for introducing a great budget."
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2025 in the Lok Sabha outlining a roadmap for India's continued economic expansion, emphasizing agriculture, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), investment, and exports.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during her Union Budget 2025 speech, announced that no income tax will be payable on income up to Rs 12 lakh, providing significant relief to taxpayers, especially the middle class.
"To taxpayers up to Rs 12 lakh of normal income (other than special rate income such as capital gains) tax rebate is being provided in addition to the benefit due to slab rate reduction in such a manner that there is no tax payable by them," said Sitharaman.
The announcement from the Finance Minister of this big relief to the middle class was met by a loud thumping of the desks by the treasury benches led by PM Narendra Modi. (ANI)
