Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 20 (ANI): Days after the Congress filed a complaint against Union Minister Ravneet Bittu over his remarks against Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also filed a complaint against the Congress leader, accusing him of insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Madhya Pradesh BJP chief VD Sharma reached the Crime Branch office in MP Nagar, Bhopal, on Thursday, submitted a complaint to register an FIR against the Congress leader and demanded strict action against him.
"Today, Madhya Pradesh BJP has submitted a complaint to register an FIR against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at the Crime Branch, MP Nagar, Bhopal. The Congress leader is continuously insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP National President JP Nadda has also written a letter to Congress national chief Mallikarjun Kharge and reminded him of how Rahul Gandhi insulted PM Modi not once but 100 times," VD Sharma told ANI.
"Therefore, the BJP across India and in Madhya Pradesh as well, has filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi. He has committed treason; he has tried to insult PM Modi after going abroad. Hence, strict action should be taken against such people. BJP has filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi and demanded strict legal action against him," he added.
BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda wrote a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in response to a letter Kharge had earlier addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In his letter, Nadda slammed Kharge's attempt to defend Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling it an effort to "polish a failed product."
Nadda began his letter by pointing out what he described as Rahul Gandhi's "history" of disrespecting both the Prime Minister and the OBC community. He highlighted Gandhi's controversial statements, including calling the Prime Minister a "thief" and using other inappropriate language. Nadda questioned Kharge's defence of Gandhi, asking, "Due to what compulsion are you trying to justify Rahul Gandhi?"
On September 17, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling for strict action against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders who made controversial remarks about Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
In his letter to PM Modi, Kharge highlighted that the language used by leaders of the BJP and its allied parties is dangerous for the country's future.
On September 17, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari and other party leaders filed a complaint against Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu for his alleged statements against Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi in Bhopal
Notably, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu stoked a controversy by calling the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi a "number 1 terrorist".
"Rahul Gandhi is not Indian; he has spent most of his time abroad. He doesn't love his country because he goes overseas and criticises India. His words have been praised by separatists and those involved in making bombs and weapons. Those who try to blow up planes, trains, and roads are supporting Rahul Gandhi. He is the country's number one terrorist and the biggest enemy whom the agencies should catch," Bittu said. (ANI)
