Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 12 (ANI): Lambasting the protests outside Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray's residence, the party's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Monday said "leaders in Delhi" are giving "supari" to do such acts.
Raut also alleged that protestors outside Thackeray's residence on Sunday have "links" with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
He said, "The protests in front of Matoshree for the Waqf board bill are conducted purposefully. The instruction was from Delhi. The leaders in Delhi are giving supari to do these kinds of protests."
"The Waqf board bill has not yet come to parliament for discussion, the bill is with the joint parliamentary commission and members of our party are also part of it" the Shiv Sena (UBT) MP added.
"10-12 people were in front of Matoshree to protest, out of which few were criminals. The protestors have links with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. They want to make an issue deliberately" he added.
Earlier, MPs of Shiv Sena (UBT) were absent during the discussion on the Waqf Board (Amendment) Bill in the parliament on Thursday.
The Waqf Board (Amendment) Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Thursday and referred to a joint parliamentary panel after a heated debate.
Earlier on Sunday, following an attack on Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray's convoy on Saturday, Raut alleged that "Ahmad Shah Abdali (in an oblique reference to Union Home Minister Amit Shah) of Delhi is giving 'supari' to spread anarchy in Maharashtra."
"You are being used. Your leaders take the 'supari' and stay silent, but you are made to fight against each other. This is not right for our state. I am not naming any party, but they are trying to mislead people as the Vidhan Sabha elections are approaching in Maharashtra," Raut claimed on Sunday.
Notably in Thane, MNS workers on Saturday hurled coconuts and cow dung at Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray's convoy. MNS workers claimed that it was in response to the incident on Friday where MNS chief Raj Thackeray's car was attacked with betel nuts and tomatoes.
"Earlier, when Raj Thackeray was on a visit to the Beed district, Uddhav Thackeray's workers threw betel nuts at his vehicles. Today, in response to that incident, when Uddhav Thackeray came to Thane, MNS workers retaliated." CM Shinde said on Saturday.
However, Shinde condemned the attack on Uddhav Thackeray by MNS workers
"I do not support this attack, but if you attack someone's convoy in this manner, their workers will retaliate similarly. Such attacks are not part of Maharashtra's culture," Shinde said. (ANI)

"Bengal people are watching Mamata's communal mindset": Saraogi

"The Election Commission is a constitutional body. Conducting the SIR process is their right. What do these people want? Do they want to win by using the fake votes of Bangladeshis, Rohingyas, infiltrators, the deceased, and those with double entries? This cannot happen. The people of Bengal have the right to the resources of Bengal, not the infiltrators and Bangladeshis," he said.
