New Delhi [India], Feb 1 (ANI): Allies of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance were unanimous in hailing the interim budget as one which paved a path to a "New India" and some leaders like Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan even equated it to a "second surgical strike" by the government.
After Union Minister Piyush Goyal presented the budget in Lok Sabha on Friday, leaders of parties allying with the BJP expressed their satisfaction.
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Ram Vilas Paswan dubbed the interim budget as a second surgical strike, referring to the strike by the Modi-led government on terror outfits on the border.
“This is ‘surgical strike 2’ from Prime Minister Modi. We will win over 400 seats and the NDA government will be formed again. Narendra Modi will again become the Prime Minister of India. This budget has brought a huge relief for farmers of the country,” Paswan told ANI.
Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi also compared the budget to the surgical strikes and said through the Interim BudgetPrime Minister Narendra Modi has once again conducted surgical strikes.”
“The Opposition is silent. They don’t have anything to say and criticise the government. This Budget benefits all sections of society. Congress leaders are silent today. I saw on TV that Rahul Gandhi with a dull face,” Sushil Modi told ANI.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told ANI, “All sections of the society including farmers, middle class, poor and women have been mentioned in this budget. This budget will help achieve the dream of a 'New India'.”
BJP president Amit Shah said that the Budget has met the expectations of farmers, labourers and middle class. “By bearing a cost of Rs 75,000 crore, the government will implement Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. This scheme will also benefit those farmers who do not take loans,” he said.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh dubbed it a “historic budget” while Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh said, “We have also issued guidelines for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. In 2018-19 financial year, for months before March, Rs 2000 will be transferred to farmers' accounts, and in the financial year 2019-20 farmers will get Rs 6000.”
Resonating similar sentiments, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, “Farmers, poor and middle-class people have got a big relief through this budget. I believe that the Infrastructure budget this year will reach around Rs 85,000 crore. We are rightly moving forwards towards a ‘New India’. It’s a revolutionary and historic budget which benefits especially the farmers and the poor people.”
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the “Opposition has no issues to talk about, they are scared of Prime Minister Modi’s welfare schemes.”
“We don’t do votebank politics, we do development politics. We are dedicated to take Indian farmers to new heights,” Pradhan told ANI.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “The budget is a gift to the labourers, farmers, women and middle-class people. They have decided to give 6000 rupees every year to the farmers who have up to two hectare of land. These are historic decisions.” (ANI)
