New Delhi [India], October 2 (ANI): Tough teams of lawyers are all set for a face-off and to confront each other, though not in a court of law, but on the field this time.
The Football Counsel is organising a football tournament called Lawyers Football League 2024 where each member of 16 teams of lawyers will challenge every step taken by their opponents.
Clayground at Defence Colony in New Delhi will witness lawyers sweating not in their black coats but in colourful jerseys to defeat their opponents and to get the final verdict of the tournament in their favour.
Each of the 16 teams comprises six members on the field and three members off the field. These teams are divided into four groups and will fight each other from October 4-6.
These teams first will play league matches, and the qualifiers will play the subsequent matches.
The teams include First Generation lawyers, the Avengers, Shyam Sharma Strikers, Cicero, Amit Saksena Warriors, Mavericks FC, Supreme Court Gladiators, law and disorders, Avoidable FC, Supreme Gladiators, Kick Masters, Justice Served, Bar Benders, and Molly LLB.
Member of the organising team, Advocate Arpit Batra, said that as per rules, there will be a female or players above the age of 40 years in each team. The league marches will be of 15 minutes and knockout matches of 20 minutes each.
This tournament is being organised with the support of the Delhi High Court Bar Association. (ANI)
