Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 21 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday addressed the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Flow's 3-day Inter-State Conference on Thursday, highlighting the state's transformation over the past eight years under his leadership.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Adityanath attributed India's remarkable rise as the world's fourth-largest economy to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"You have seen India transform in the last 11 years. The country has progressed in different sectors and India's unprecedented progress attracts the world today. In the last 11 years, under the leadership of PM Modi, India established itself as the fourth largest economy and now India is emerging as one of the fastest-growing economy. We will soon become the third largest economy in the world," the Chief Minister said.
Reflecting on the law and order situation in the state, Chief Minister Adityanath noted the significant improvements made since his government assumed office and said that today law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh is considered a model in the country.
He stated, "A society cannot be self-reliant if it ignores half of its population. 8.5 years ago, before we came to power, there was atmosphere of insecurity, law and order had collapsed, there used to be riots in the state... businessmen, women, industries, markets, nothing were safe. When we came, we gave top priority to security in Uttar Pradesh. Today, the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh is considered a model in the country, festivals are organised peacefully. Every person feels safe."
The Chief Minister credited the state's security reforms as a key factor in attracting investments, which have exceeded Rs 45 lakh crore in the past years.
He highlighted that these investments have made a positive impact in the state and under his tenure, the women workforce in Uttar Pradesh has sharply increased by 3 times and has become around 35-36% in the last eight years.
Chief Minister Adityanath asserted, "Its result is that we brought an investment of more than Rs 45 lakh crore. Soon we will put on ground the new investment of Rs 5 lakh crore. When this investment came, employment also increased and it was not just limited to men. When our government came, there were only 12-13% women workforce in Uttar Pradesh, but now it has increased upto 35-36%. It means it has increased by 3 times in the last 8 years." (ANI)
