Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], July 23 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday said that an additional amount of Rs 250 would be transferred to the bank accounts of Ladli Behnas apart from monthly aid of Rs 1250 in the upcoming August month on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
CM Yadav also called upon the ministers, MLAs and all other public representatives to celebrate Rakhi with Ladli Behnas in their respective areas.
"The month of Savan has started and it is our good fortune that there is Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Madhya Pradesh. In the month of Savan and on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the state government will transfer an additional amount of Rs 250 each into the bank accounts of Ladli Behans in the upcoming August month. This amount would be in addition to the Rs 1250 per month (being paid to each beneficiary of the 'Ladli Behna Yojana')," CM Yadav told ANI.
"On the basis of social brotherhood, I expect all our ministers, MLAs, MPs, Councillors and all public representatives to celebrate Raksha Bandhan in their respective areas from August 1 to August 21," CM said.
He further urged everyone to celebrate the Raksha Bandhan with great pomp along with the sisters. The CM also extended greetings to all the women.
"Raksha Bandhan is a wonderful festival for brothers and sisters. Let us celebrate this festival with great pomp. I extend greetings to all the sisters," CM Yadav added.
Every year in India, the festival of Raksha Bandhan is observed to celebrate the unbreakable bond between brothers and sisters, which is commemorated by sisters who tie Rakhi to their sibling's wrist. Raksha Bandhan is observed on the full moon day, also known as Poornima Tithi, of the Shukla Paksha in Shravan Maas (Sawan month).
This year Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 19. (ANI)
