Kotak Mahindra signs MoU with Pullela Gopichand Badminton Foundation

Hyderabad (Telangana), [India], Feb 5 (ANI): Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme in sports, Kotak Mahindra Bank has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Pullela Gopi Chand Badminton Foundation in Hyderabad on Monday.

Hyderabad (Telangana), [India], Feb 5 (ANI): Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme in sports, Kotak Mahindra Bank has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Pullela Gopi Chand Badminton Foundation in Hyderabad on Monday.
This collaboration between the Kotak Mahindra and the Pullela Gopi Chand Badminton Foundation entails construction of a high-performance training centre, comprising six air-conditioned badminton courts and sports science centre in the existing premises and also a new training centre.
The sports and science centre will have top quality resident nutritionists, physiotherapists and conditioning experts for all-round development of players and to ensure that the badminton coaching imparted by the academy is at par global standards. It will take about 2 to 3 years to get everything done with an investment of around Rs 35 crore.
Speaking to ANI, Pullela Gopichand said: "Kotak Mahindra Bank has come forward to support badminton. We have three projects one is to build six air-conditioned badminton courts. The sports science centre will have the equipment needed for the players to compete against the best in the world. The third initiative is to have a coach and a player fellowship development programme."
"All England badminton championship is coming up and I hope that one of our players will win the tournament. Badminton players like Saina, PV Sindhu and Srikanth have been performing very well. So I have high expectations from them." he added.
Joint MD, Kotak Mahindra Dipak Gupta stated that the project is part of the CSR and the bank would also assist the coach certification and fellowship programme for coaches and players. (ANI)
