Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], October 12 (ANI): Preparations for Durga Puja are in full swing in West Bengal. Every year, Kolkata brings new puja themes that are unique and innovative in their own way. From pandals to Durga idols, devotees get to see various themed Durga Puja pandals.

The Theme of this year's Durga Puja pandal of 'Picnic Garden 39 pally Durga Puja Samiti' is Farmers' Rights. The Puja Pandal has made an attempt to reflect the story of farmers and their challenges.
"This year the theme we have chosen for this year's Durga Puja revolves around 'Farmers' Rights in India'. We believe that the rights and welfare of our farmers are an important component of our country's development, and it is important that we highlight their importance as well. The challenges they face," said Secretary, Picnic Garden's 39 Pally Durga Puja Samiti Rachit Singh.

"Our presentation focused on the vital role played by farmers in the development and sustenance of our nation. They are the backbone of our agriculture sector, which forms the foundation of our economy. However, despite their significant contributions, farmers face a number of difficulties, including but not limited to land rights, financial crisis, lack of infrastructure, and market access," he said.

"Through our presentation this year, we have emphasised the importance of implementing policies and initiatives that protect their rights and improve their livelihoods," he added.

It is important that "we collectively address these issues and work towards a more equitable and prosperous future for our farming community," he said.

This pandal has been made from things used in the daily lives of farmers. It took about two to two and a half months to build this pandal, which was made by 30 to 35 artisans together. The budget of this pandal is around Rs 15 lakh. The effort is to bring every issue related to the lives of farmers to the attention of society and empower them further through the theme of this puja pandal, he added.
