Kolkata: Chinese delegation visits Eastern command HQ

Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal on Thursday led the Indian delegation at the G20 Energy Abundance Ministerial Meeting held in Houston, USA, where he showcased India's rapid energy transition, revealing that the country's installed power generation capacity has reached 552 GW, with more than half originating from non-fossil fuel sources.

A delegation led by West Bengal Leader of Opposition Ritabrata Banerjee left for Delhi to meet the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday in connection with the dispute over the Trinamool Congress' (TMC) name and election symbol.

A delegation led by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday called on Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister of Education Pralhad Joshi in the national capital to raise key issues concerning road infrastructure, public safety, and educational development in Bihar's Seemanchal region and parts of Maharashtra.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided to meet a five-member delegation led by West Bengal Leader of Opposition Ritabrata Banerjee on Thursday again amid a dispute over the party's name, election symbol and funds between the Mamata Banerjee-led faction and the faction led by Ritabrata Banerjee.

"It will commence with the lighting of diyas at the homes of beneficiaries of government schemes. No one will be compelled to do so; however, it is natural that those who have benefited from government schemes may feel happy and choose to light lamps on the Prime Minister's birthday. Street plays and cultural performances are among the many activities planned as part of the campaign," the Defence Minister added.
