Kishtwar: Internet services suspended, curfew imposed

Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Nov 2 (ANI): Internet services have been suspended and curfew imposed in the state's Kishtwar district on Friday after Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother were shot dead by terrorists here yesterday.

Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Nov 2 (ANI): Internet services have been suspended and curfew imposed in the state's Kishtwar district on Friday after Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother were shot dead by terrorists here yesterday.
Speaking to ANI, Kishtwar's Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana said: "Keeping in view the sensitivity of the town, I imposed Section 144. At around 11 pm last night, curfew was imposed following which Army carried out a flag march. Currently, the situation is under control. Adequate forces have been deployed everywhere. Superintendent of Police (SP) has been asked to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter."
Calling the killing a 'cowardly' act, BJP president Amit Shah tweeted: "Just got the tragic news of killing of Shri Anil Parihar, Secretary @BJP4JnK, and his brother by terrorists in Kishtwar. This is a cowardly act that shames humanity. I grieve the death of my valued colleague and pray that God gives his family strength to bear this untimely loss."
Expressing grief over the demise of the BJP state secretary, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, "Shocked & pained by the killing of J&K State BJP leader Anil Parihar & his brother. My heart goes out to the bereaved family. Spoke to Advisor to J&K Governor, Vijay Kumar regarding the incident. The police will leave no stone unturned to bring the perpetrators to justice."
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley too expressed sadness over the incident and wrote, "Killing of BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother in J&K's Kishtwar is an act of cowardice. It is an extremely deplorable act. This is an attempt to derail the peace process in the region. My thoughts & prayers are with the family of Parihar."(ANI)
