Kerala rain: Holiday announced for educational institutions in Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow

The district administration has declared a holiday for educational institutions, including professional colleges and Kendriya Vidyalayas in Thiruvananthapuram, for October 4th due to an orange alert for heavy rain in the district.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], October 3 (ANI): The district administration has declared a holiday for educational institutions, including professional colleges and Kendriya Vidyalayas in Thiruvananthapuram, for October 4 due to an orange alert for heavy rain in the district.
Thiruvananthapuram district collector Geromic George has declared the holiday also in view of the overflowing of some of the canals in the district due to rains in the past few days.  
Kerala Public Service Commission has postponed the physical fitness test scheduled on 4 and 5 October in Thiruvananthapuram district.
India Meteorological Department(IMD) issued an orange alert(heavy rain) for Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
Due to the heavy rain, the district administration has opened relief centers in several parts of the district to lodge those who have been evacuated from low-lying areas. (ANI)
