Kerala floods: Victim breaks down after seeing his damaged house

Vandiperiyar (Kerala), Aug 19 (ANI): As the devastating floods in Kerala has left the people of the southern state helpless and homeless, a 65-year-old tailor from Idduki district broke down into tears after seeing his damaged house.

Vandiperiyar (Kerala), Aug 19 (ANI): As the devastating floods in Kerala has left the people of the southern state helpless and homeless, a 65-year-old tailor from Idduki district broke down into tears after seeing his damaged house.
Sharing his plight with ANI, Chandraboss, hailing from Vandiperiyar town said, "What will happen to us and what will we do if the camp gets closed once normalcy returns?"
The elderly tailor, who is now staying at a temporary relief camp in a school at Vanirperiyar, sought help from the government.
Several people in Kerala have lost their homes and belongings due to flooding caused by torrential rain. Chandraboss's house was washed away with the releases of water from the Mullaiperiyar dam.
Kerala has been facing the worst flooding in a century. The state has suffered a loss of Rs 19,512 crore due to the deluge, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Saturday.
As the massive floods have wreaked havoc, besides Central Government, Chief Ministers of various states have come forward to support Kerala and offered financial aid to the southern state. (ANI)
