Kerala CM, LoP express condolences on death of 2 CRPF jawans in Sukma Naxal attack

Kerala Chief Minister Pinaryi Vijayan condoled the death of two security personnel in an IED blast carried out by Naxalites in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], June 23 (ANI): Kerala Chief Minister Pinaryi Vijayan condoled the death of two security personnel in an IED blast carried out by Naxalites in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
The Chief Minister said that their sacrifice and courage will always be remembered.
In a post to X, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan wrote, "Heartfelt condolences to the families of CRPF jawans R. Vishnu and Shailendra, who lost their lives in the Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh. R. Vishnu, a valiant member of the CRPF Cobra unit, hailed from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Their sacrifice and courage will always be remembered."
The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Kerala Assembly and the Congress leader VD Satheeshan also expressed grief over the death of security personnel who hailed from Kerala and saluted his bravery.
In a social media post on Facebook, Satheeshan wrote, "Salutations to Vishnu, a brave jawan from Palaod, Thiruvananthapuram, who died a hero's death in the Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh. This heroic death for the nation will be remembered forever. Vishnu's family will be caught. Sharing in the grief of loved ones."
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also expressed grief at the death of two security personnel due to an IED blast carried out by Naxalites in the Sukma district of the state.
The Chief Minister regarded this Naxal attack as a 'cowardly act out of frustration' due to the ongoing Naxal eradication campaign in Bastar. He also prayed to God for the peace of the departed soul and to provide strength to their families.
Earlier, in the day, two jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed in an IED blast planted by Naxalites between Silger and Tekulagudem, under the limits of Jagargunda Police Station in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
The killed security personnel were identified as Vishnu R (35), hailing from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala while the other jawan was identified as Shailendra (29) who hailed from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The security personnel were part of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) 201 battalion.
According to the information received, the incident occurred at 3 pm on Sunday, when these jawans were on Road Opening Duty from Camp Silger (under Jagargunda police station area) to Camp Tekalgudem and the blast of the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Naxalites claimed their lives.
The IED was planted by Naxalites on the way from Camp Silger to Tekalgudem to cause harm to the security forces. (ANI)
