Hyderabad (Telangana), Nov 24, (ANI): With campaigning entering the last leg in poll-bound Telangana, national spokesperson of the Congress Party Randeep Singh Surejewala has launched a scathing attack on caretaker chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, calling him a "stooge of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)."
Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, Surjewala claimed that the BJP and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) are an "undeclared alliance."
"Power hungry KCR has hijacked the Telangana movement; he has betrayed the people of Telangana. Telangana is born with the slogan Neellu (water), Nidhulu (funds) and Niyamakalu (Jobs and appointments). People hoped that after formation of the new state, their aspirations would be fulfilled, but all that has remained a pipe dream under KCR Garu," he noted.
During the presser, Surjewala and other Congress leaders also released a charge sheet against the KCR-led TRS government in Hyderabad.
"KCR stands for 'King of Corruption and Rhetoric'. 3C's of the KCR's Coterie are corruption, commission, and cheating. In the four years and three months of corrupt rule and utter misrule, KCR's single point agenda is 'Family and Coterie Rule' and qua all others Befool!," noted Surjewala.
The Congress spokesperson also claimed that failing schemes and broken promises had become a hallmark of the state government and KCR.
Polling is scheduled to be held on December 7 to elect representatives of 119 constituencies. The counting of votes will take place on December 11.
The Telangana Assembly was dissolved prematurely in September on the recommendation of the ruling TRS government. (ANI)
