Solar-powered car developed by Kashmiri innovator

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 21 (ANI): Bilal Ahmad, a math teacher from the Sant Nagar area of central Kashmir's Srinagar District, has emerged as a beacon of sustainable advancement.
Ahmad's remarkable journey has led him to secure a patent for his solar-powered car, a creation that not only exemplifies his ingenuity but also holds the promise of reshaping the very foundations of the automobile industry.
Ahmad's visionary concept materialized in 2022 with the unveiling of his solar-powered car, a marvel born from a decade-long odyssey that began in 2009. This forward-looking innovation has earned him a coveted patent, awarded on July 26, 2023.
What sets Ahmad's solar car apart is its fusion of eco-friendliness and affordability, two key aspects that have eluded many contenders in the sustainable transportation arena. This car isn't just a prototype; it's a luxurious reality aimed at making cutting-edge technology accessible to the masses.
While discussing his creation, Ahmad expressed his determination to democratize innovation: "I want affordable inventions to reach the common people. I want people to make use of advanced technology at affordable prices."
One of the standout features of Ahmad's creation is the distinctive gullwing door that elegantly ascends, reminiscent of the iconic doors seen on luxury brands like Ferrari. This unique touch is emblematic of his dedication to pushing boundaries and carving his own path in the world of automobiles.
Drawing inspiration from renowned brands, Ahmad's solar car is a testament to his unwavering commitment to both innovation and elegance. The response from the public has been overwhelmingly positive, with Ahmad having already taken his creation for a spin on the open road.
Enthusiastic reactions from Indian investors have further fueled his aspirations. "The India-based investors have shown a lot of interest in contributing to its future development," Ahmad revealed. With a timeline etched in his mind, he plans to refine his solar car through meticulous modifications, with a goal to complete them by September 2023.
Ahmad's ambitions, however, reach beyond national borders. With an eye firmly set on the global stage, he has submitted an application to the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) for an international patent. His innovative strides in multiple facets of the solar car's design have already garnered international attention and novelty recognition.
Ahmad revealed that his journey has been largely self-funded. Despite a lack of support or financial assistance from governmental bodies or non-governmental organizations, he has poured both time and resources into his labor of love.
"This is my 11 years of hard work, and I have already spent a huge amount of money on the project," Ahmad admitted, underscoring the sacrifices he's made to turn his dream into reality. (ANI)
