Kashmiri boy tells his 'Mann ki Baat' to PM Modi

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Sept 24 (ANI): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded 18-year-old Kashmiri Bilal Dar for his work towards the Prime Ministers Clean-India initiative, Dar expressed his gratitude towards the Prime Minister and appealed to him to help him with his employment.

"I am grateful that Modi ji mentioned me. It is my request to him to please do something for my employment. There is no one else earning in my family," said Dar, who was made the brand ambassador of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC).

Earlier in the day, while addressing his 36th edition of monthly radio programme, 'Mann Ki Baat,' Prime Minister Modi talked about Dar, who created a living by picking up waste from the Wular Lake in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.

He also lauded the Kashmiri youth's efforts to clean an entire lake on his own and asked the Kashmir administration to take inspiration from him.

"I congratulate 18-yr-old Bilal Dar, who has been made brand ambassador for cleanliness by Srinagar Municipal Corporation," he said.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh labelled Dar as a 'morale booster' for the youth.

He said, "It is a matter of pride for Kashmir. Bilal Dar is a morale booster for youth."

He also said that the youth in Kashmir are ready to lead the growth of Indian economy alongside the Prime Minister.

"They have been presented with opportunities. They are inspired by the PM. They want to be a part of New India," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Sunday through the 36th edition of his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme. The monthly radio show completed three remarkable years today.

The show, which focussed on people's connect with Prime Minister Modi, saw him again sharing his views and feelings on several issues with the masses.

He acknowledged the people's effort towards cleanliness drive, saying he was delighted to see the support being extended to the SwachhataHiSeva movement and added that people are actively contributing to a Swachh Bharat. (ANI)
