Karti's arrest CBI's great achievement: Swamy

New Delhi[India]Feb 28(ANI): Lauding the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) for arresting former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy said latter will certainly go to jail now.

Speaking to ANI, Swamy said, "The CBI gave Karti Chidambaram a lot of chances, but he continued to deceive them with his lies and failed to cooperate with them. That too there is overwhelming evidence against him. Now he will certainly go to jail."

"I am sure the charge-sheet in his case will be filed by the CBI soon. This is a great achievement for the CBI," he added.

Karti was arrested earlier today at the Chennai airport, when he arrived there from London. He was arrested in connection with the INX Media case corruption case.

He is accused of taking kickbacks worth Rs. 10-lakh to get clearance for INX Media for receiving foreign investments of over Rs. 300 crores in 2007.

The businessman allegedly used the influence of his father P Chidambaram who was the then Union Finance Minister in the UPA II government.(ANI)
