"The Colour of Walkathon which carries message is 'PINK'. Ladies in our house used to see men if they are not well but they don't worry about their own self. Men should also look their family, be their Mom, Wife or daughter. I see lot of men came for this awareness walkathon and support this cause and it's really worth it," she said.
The Walkathon saw huge participation of both men, women and students from various colleges.
One of the Woman participants commended the initiative saying, "I think it's time that men take responsibility for the health of the women in their family, whether it's a friend, colleague, wife, sister, mother, pushing them, nudging them to go get themselves checked to put priority on their health because if the women is unwell, the whole family breaks apart. So I think it's very nice, it's a nice initiative to focus on the men and it's nice that the men have come forward and take the responsibility for the wife's health and make sure that their health is safe. So self-examination we say is for just checking yourself. So that's once a month and mammogram once a year or at least you know if not once in two years is recommended above the age of 40."
