Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 25 (ANI): In response to actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan's claim that Electoral Voting Machines (EVMs) are flawed, Bharatiya Janata Party leader N Ramchander Rao said that while the country is moving forward, the Makkal Needhi Maiam chief wants to push it backwards.
"Blaming the EVMs which are successful in the country and the world praises us for conducting such a huge election. When India has moved forward technologically and scientifically, Kamal Hasan wants to push India backwards," Ramchander Rao said speaking to ANI.
Ramchander Rao said that people like Kamaal Hasam want to politicise everything that comes to their minds and his statements on EVM are misleading.
"EVMs cannot be tampered. They are the best form of polling. It saves time, money, manpower and many things in the country. But these people do not realise. They only want to politicise everything that comes into their minds. Kamal Hasan's statements on EVM are misleading. There is a mis-notion in his mind. He is ignorant. He has no political knowledge," Rao said.
The former member of the Telangana Legislative Council further pointed out that Kamal Haasan sympathises with the DMK as they talk against Hindu culture.
"Kamal Hasan himself lost badly in Coimbatore and at that time the DMK came to power for which Kamal Hassan has sympathies because they speak against Hindu culture," Rao said.
In reaction to the opposition INDIA bloc planning a mega rally on March 31 in Delhi, Rao said, "The INDI alliance has planned for a mega rally on March 31. We all know that the INDI alliance is a combination of corrupt people, dynast, and rejected parties...Why are they holding rallies? They do not want CBI or ED to work or do they want the corrupt to be protected. Or do they want a person who is arrested for not respecting the court's order to be protected?"
Spelling out the motive for organising the rally in Delhi, Rao said, "The INDI alliance is frustrated because all their leaders are corrupt. To remove their tainted image, they are trying to bring out a big rally. I am sure it will flop." (ANI)
