New Delhi [India], February 10 (ANI): Saying that she has "no wishes to be Chief Minister" Delhi BJP MLA from Wazipur assembly constituency expressed confidence in the party's leadership on choosing a good new CM for the national capital.
"Whatever decision (about CM face) the party's top leadership will take - will be made after a lot of thinking... I am a small party worker and a soldier of PM Modi, I have no wish to be the CM. I am happy as once a councillor is now an MLA," she told ANI.
Further adding that she just wants to help the people of her constituency with the issues, she said, "My priority will be to work for my constituency as the people there have faced a lot of issues and in the coming 5 years, I'll work for them..."
The party is yet to announce a person to lead the Delhi assembly, as the party came to power again after 27 years. The last BJP government in Delhi was from 1993 to 1998.
Out of 70 assembly constituencies, the BJP won 48 seats, while AAP managed to secure only 22. Several prominent AAP leaders, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, ex-minister Satyendra Jain, and Saurabh Bharadwaj, lost their seats.
Earlier today, BJP's winning candidate from Moti Nagar, Harish Khurana, saidthat the selection of Delhi's Chief Minister is the responsibility of the top leadership and the Prime Minister, while his priority remains serving the people of his constituency and addressing its issues.
Khurana said while speaking to ANI, "In Moti Nagar, the constituency I have won from, there are drinking water and sewage-related issues, and we will work to resolve them. The selection of the Chief Minister is the responsibility of the top leadership and the Prime Minister, so let them handle it." (ANI)
