Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], March 16 (ANI): Punjab Health Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Balbir Singh on Sunday extended greetings to Bhagwant Mann for completing a successful three years in office as the state's Chief Minister.
Singh shared a post on his official 'X' handle and praised the developmental work done under the leadership of AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann.
"Three years of good governance Arvind Kejriwal model, 3 years of change! Better schools, revolutionised primary health care via mohalla clinics, upgraded hospitals, free power, and corruption-free governance. AAP continues to put people first. A journey of progress, transparency, & transformation led by CM Bhagwant Mann", Balbir Singh's 'X' post read.
Mann took over as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab on March 16, 2022, when the Aam Aadmi Party secured a more than two-third majority in the previous assembly elections. The party went on to win 92 seats out of 117 and dethroned Congress from power.
Meanwhile, party convenor Kejriwal arrived in Amritsar after a 10-day Vipassana meditation session in Hoshiarpur and is set to visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
AAP had secured a majority in Patiala and Jalandhar in the December municipal elections
However, in the previous few days, there has been a significant increase in grenade attacks on police stations and temples in the State, which has now become a major concern for the Punjab government. Earlier, a blast occurred at Thakurdwara Temple in Khandwala, Amritsar, on Friday after two bike-borne men lobbed an object, suspected to be an explosive, at the temple.
According to eyewitnesses, two young men riding a motorcycle were seen lobbing a suspicious object towards the temple. CCTV footage has captured the incident. No injuries were reported, and police personnel were immediately present at the scene to investigate the incident.
Amritsar Commissioner GPS Bhullar has suggested the hand of Pakistan Intel agency ISI in the blast."
We got information at 2 a.m. We reached the spot right away. The forensic team was called... We checked the CCTV and spoke to the nearby people. The thing is that Pakistan's ISI lures our youth into creating disturbances in Punjab," he said. (ANI)
