Joint Police team unearths active mini gun manufacturing factory in Bihar

The raid took place on Monday night, following which four skilled workers were detained along with the owner, Akhilesh Kumar Kushwaha, whereas his co-partner Anil Kumar Yadav still remains at large.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], July 30 (ANI): A joint team comprising the Special Task Force (STF), Kolkata Police, STF Patna and Madharwa Police Station in Bihar conducted a raid and successfully unearthed one active mini gun manufacturing factory located at Ruprahimpur village in Bihar's Saran district.
The raid took place on Monday night, following which four skilled workers were detained along with the owner, Akhilesh Kumar Kushwaha, whereas his co-partner Anil Kumar Yadav remains at large.
During the search, several items were recovered from the minigun factory. This included one 7.65 mm semiautomatic improvised firearm, 7.65 mm live cartridges, huge numbers of semi-finished improvised 7.65 mm pistol body parts like pistol bodies, pistol sliders, pistol grip and pistol barrels, one lathe machine, two milling machines, one drilling machine, one grinding and polishing machine, one welding machine, one diesel-powered electric generator, one hand grinder and a huge amount of raw materials and tools used for the production of those improvised firearms.
The workers have been identified as Mohammad Chand alias Domu (30), Mohammad Sahil Alam (20), MD Irfan and Mohammad Parwaz Alam. A case will be registered at Madharwa Police Station in this regard.
Earlier this month, in a joint operation launched by the Indian Army and Manipur Police, a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during search operations conducted in Imphal East district.
A joint team of the Indian Army and Manipur Police acted on specific information about the presence of arms and ammunition in Chanung Top in Manipur's Imphal East District. Indian Army along with Manipur Police launched an extensive search operation from Kangpokpi and Imphal East District.
The 72-hour-long operation was conducted with the deployment of Patrol dogs and Explosive Detection Dogs due to the complexity of the terrain.
The operation resulted in the recovery of a huge cache of arms and ammunition including thirteen Long Range Mortars, four Burmese Iron Rod, an Improvised Explosive Device, one Modified Grenade Launcher, one G3 Rifle, and six 303 Rifles.
One .22 Pistol, a Grenade, 25 locally made Improvised Explosive Devices, 115 rounds of ammunition of various weapons, three magazines of multiple weapons, two Radio Sets and other war-like stores were also found. (ANI)
