Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], January 30 (ANI): Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya, questioned the authenticity of the seizure of Rs 36 lakh and two cars by the Enforcement Directorate from the residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and said that the seizure seems to be "planted".
Officials of the ED on Monday searched Soren's residence in South Delhi in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged land scam case.
"...When ED was called on January 31 on whose instructions did the ED go to his house in Delhi? It is being said that 36 lakh were recovered. Is someone authorised to enter one's house in his absence?... Whether the recovered money was not planted by the ED or Babulal Marandi," said Supriyo Bhattacharya during a press conference on Tuesday.
"He is being treated like a criminal. Hemant Soren is not Himanta Biswa Sarma, Ajit Pawar or Nitish Kumar. He is the son of brave Shibu Soren," he added further.
"The way Raj Bhavan is operating, make the Chief Secretary and DGP in your house," said Bhattacharya.
"Bhattacharya also slammed people who were claiming that Jharkhand CM was missing and said "Whether the CM has to mark biometric attendance in BJP's office," said Bhattacharya.
Further bashing out former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and BJP leader Babulal Marandi Bhattacharya said, " Our party will spend Rs 11 lakh to treat the mental illness of Babulal Marandi. Babulal Marandi will not be able to run away because of his old age. We will offer him a kind of hospitality in 2024 which he will never be able to forget."
Amid all this, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary on Monday. The Jharkhand Chief Minister visited Gandhi Bhavan in Ranchi to pay his tributes.
"Bapu's thoughts will always inspire us. Have fought, will fight, have won, will win. Hundreds of salutes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary," Hemant Soren posted on X. (ANI)
