Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], January 3 (ANI): Scholars of different madrasas in Anantnag expressed their gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday for the approval of the establishment of a madrasa board in the union territory.
This comes after the Jammu and Kashmir Government accorded sanction to the establishment of a draft committee to draft a proposal for the establishment of a madrasa board in the union territory.
Various scholars from Anantnag district held a press conference in Anantnag on Wednesday.
"Not only the people but the students studying in these religious madrasas are also very happy with the decree issued by the Lieutenant Governor for the establishment of the madrasa board," said the scholars.
They also thanked all the stakeholders who contributed to the formation of the madrasa board.
Along with expressing gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the scholars also thanked Chief Secretary Atul Dilu, Director of School Education and other officers for their early approval of the establishment of the draft committee.
The scholars said that the practical establishment of this board will be of great benefit to the students studying in religious madrasas, especially those living below the poverty line.
"We will extend our full cooperation to the Lieutenant Governor, the Board of Madrasas and the officers who will be given the responsibility of the Board," added one of the scholars. (ANI)
