Jharkhand: Teacher rapes minor student, arrested

Chatra (Jharkhand) [India], July 22 (ANI): Jharkhand police on Sunday arrested a school teacher for allegedly raping a minor student, and later forced her to abort the foetus.

Chatra (Jharkhand) [India], July 22 (ANI): Jharkhand police on Sunday arrested a school teacher for allegedly raping a minor student, and later forced her to abort the foetus.
The police registered a complaint against the accused under POCSO act following a complaint by the victim.
The SHO, Chatra, Ram Awadh Singh, told ANI that he would call for strict action against the accused.
"FIR was registered on the complaint of the victim and police responded quickly and arrested the accused. The crime committed is grave and we will propose a strict punishment for the accused in the court," Awadh Singh said.
On a related note, this is not the first time that the accused teacher had sexually exploited minor girls.
Earlier, a minor girl had made a serious allegation against the teacher of sexually exploiting her and giving her the wrong medicine after she got pregnant leading to her abortion. (ANI)
