Javadekar blames TMC for West Bengal violence

New Delhi [India], Mar. 28 (ANI): Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday blamed the ruling All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) for the ruckus created in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas that claimed one life and injured a police officer.

New Delhi [India], Mar. 28 (ANI): Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday blamed the ruling All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) for the ruckus created in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas that claimed one life and injured a police officer.

"In North 24 Parganas (West Bengal), All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) goons attacked Ram Navami Shobha Yatra, where one person was killed in the incident and a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP's) hand was slashed," Javadekar said in a press conference here.

"Permissions (for procession) were not given at many places; all this is being done deliberately," Javadekar added.

Tension prevailed at Beldi village in Purulia district, Raniganj in Paschim Burdwan district and Kankinara in North 24 Parganas district on Tuesday where three people fell victims to the violence.

The TMC government had disallowed Shobha Yatra processions to be held on March 25, due to which they were carried out the following day.

The police lathi-charged at the crowd to disburse them leaving even the children injured. The situation went out of control in the area and heavy police deployment has been in place since then. (ANI)
