J-K: 'Veernaari' felicitated in Pargwal village by Akhil Bharatiya Purva Sainik Seva Parishad

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 18 (ANI): Akhil Bhartiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad on Thursday held a 'Veernari Felicitation Ceremony' at village Pargwal which was attended by a large number of ex-servicemen, schoolchildren and government officials.
Since there are a large number of ex-servicemen in the area hence all arrangements for the ceremony were done by a local Army unit.
The function started with a wreath laying at the war memorial of Captain Gandharva Singh who laid down his life while defending the unarmed civilians from Pakistan in 1947 at Bimbar.
Students from Government Middle School Pindi presented a very impressive patriotic cultural program.
While addressing the gathering, Brigadier Balbir Singh SM (Retd) said that the "nation will never forget the sacrifices of our heroes and it is our responsibility to look after the families of such sons of our motherland."
The election of President, Vice President and Secretary was held under the supervision of Col Sukhvir Mankotia, General Secretary, Akhil Bhartiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad.
Sub Maj Praveen ,Captain Ashok, Havildar Praladh were unanimously elected as President, Vice President and Secretary of Pargwal Tehsil.
Newly elected President Sub Maj Praveen Singh requested all ex-servicemen to get united and work for the betterment of society.
Captain Yugal Gupta (Retd) thanked everyone especially 'Akhil Bhartiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad' for honouring the family of war heroes. (ANI)
