J-K: Two children die after 'food poisoning' in Udhampur

Two children died after allegedly consuming food at a wedding function in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Friday, officials said.

Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 2 (ANI): Two children died after allegedly consuming food at a wedding function in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Friday, officials said.
The incident occurred in Satyalta village, Ghordi block, on July 31.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Joginder Singh Jasrotia, told ANI that the children complained of vomiting and diarrhoea after consuming the food.
"As per the information we have received, they had consumed food at a wedding function on July 31. They complained of vomiting and diarrhoea today. 2 children were brought dead," he said.
"Prima facie, it seems that the cause of the incident is food poisoning. A high-level inquiry has been initiated to investigate the matter thoroughly," the official added.
He further said a team has been constituted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and has been directed to submit the report within a day. (ANI)
