J-K: Nine jail inmates injured in cylinder blast at Kupwara central jail

As many as nine inmates sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at the Kupwara central jail in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, said the police on Wednesday.

Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 19 (ANI): As many as nine inmates sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at the Kupwara central jail in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, said the police on Wednesday.
The inmates were immediately rushed to the hospital, added the police.

"Today at 6 p.m., we got information about burn injury patients at Central Jail Kupwara. We immediately sent our ambulances and shifted the patients to the hospital. Doctors attended the patients and gave them first aid, after which they were referred to SMHS Srinagar," said Iqbal Ahmed, Hospital Superintendent, while speaking to reporters.
"We received 9 patients. One person had serious injuries, the others were stable," he added.
