Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 23 (ANI): In furtherance of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) outreach initiative launched last year in South Kashmir, NCC Group, Srinagar has organised a training camp in order to empower the Cadets from South Kashmir in Pulwama.
This 10-day camp commenced on August 22. It is being conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Battalion, NCC, Srinagar.
It provides an excellent opportunity for 225 Cadets of Senior and Junior Divisions from the region to attend the NCC Camp closer to their homes.
NCC training infrastructure in South Kashmir for the cadets is yet to come up to avoid long-distance travel to Srinagar or Jammu for camps, which are an essential part of the NCC curriculum.
The avoidable travel and consequent loss of precious academic days always act as a dampener for the cadets and their parents who were not comfortable sending their children far away from home.
This camp will also lay special emphasis on the training and selection of cadets for the forthcoming Republic Day Parade -2024 at New Delhi.
Endeavours will also be made to invite parents to visit the ongoing camps to see their wards undergo empowerment training.
This camp has been made possible due to favourable and spontaneous support from Shri Dilbag Singh, IPS DGP, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Tanveer Jeelani, Principal CTC Lethpora who provided all the available infrastructure support for the conduct of the camp.
It is expected that conduct of such NCC training camps closer home will further motivate the Youth of South Kashmir to join the NCC and grow into responsible citizens of the country. (ANI)
