J-K: Encounter underway between security forces, terrorists in Kulgam district

Kulgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 6 (ANI): An encounter is underway between terrorists and security forces in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Saturday.
Kashmir Police said that the encounter started in the Frisal Chinnigam area of the district and police and security forces are on the job.
Further details are awaited in the matter.
This is the second encounter in the district on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, another encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Modergam village in Kulgam district.
"#Encounter started at Modergam Village of #Kulgam District. Police and Security Forces are on job. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Zone Police informed on social media platform X.
Hours later, it informed that contact has been established at Frisal Chinnigam area.
"Contact established at Frisal Chinnigam area in #Kulgam district. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," it said in a subsequent post.
Notably, several terror incidents have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir lately.
Earlier on June 27, three terrorists were neutralized in an encounter with security forces on Wednesday in the Gandoh, Bhaderwah sector of district Doda in Jammu and Kashmir, ADGP Jammu Anand Jain said.
Last month, a bus carrying pilgrims fell into a gorge after the terrorist attack in Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir on June 9 evening, leaving at least nine persons dead and 33 others injured. (ANI)
