J-K DGP visits Ramban, meets Lt Gen Ranbir Singh

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Nov 10 (ANI): The Director-General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh on Sunday visited Ramban and held a detailed meeting with several security officers and reviewed law and order situation.

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Nov 10 (ANI): The Director-General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh on Sunday visited Ramban and held a detailed meeting with several security officers and reviewed law and order situation.
Singh also visited Northern Command Headquarters and called on Army Commander Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh and enquired about his health.
The DGP was accompanied by Additional DG CRPF Zulfikar Hassan J-K, DIG Udhampur/Reasi and SSP Udhampur. The overall security situation of the Union Territory was discussed in the light of the Ayodhya judgement, a statement from Police Media Center in Jammu said.
The statement said, "DGP visited Ramban and he complimented the officers for the commendable coordination and synergy between Police, Civil administration and CAPF which resulted in smooth and peaceful handling of the security and law and order challenges in the area from time to time."
"A meeting was also held with the representatives of the construction companies engaged in widening and construction of National Highway and the DGP took stock of the landslide areas and other potholes on National Highway requiring immediate attention and repair. The landslide-prone areas and the pace with which, the work to clear these landslides is done were discussed," the statement said.
"The concerned construction company management representatives were asked to keep their men and machinery available at all such spots for speedy clearance of the road. Some other areas where the road space has been damaged due to recent rains were also discussed. The representatives were asked to rush more manpower and machinery during winter months so that the road does not get blocked for a longer duration," the statement said.
The statement said that SSP Traffic National Highway was directed that whenever there is a blockade of road, information must be shared immediately through various channels to maintain traffic discipline and to avoid inconvenience to the public. Sufficient Traffic personnel should be deployed at landslide-prone areas for the regulation of traffic. (ANI)
