J-K: Cordon and search operations underway in Poonch after terrorist attack on IAF convoy

A cordon and search operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch is underway following a terrorist attack on an Indian Air Force convoy on Saturday.

Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], May 4 (ANI): A cordon and search operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch is underway following a terrorist attack on an Indian Air Force convoy on Saturday.
In the area of the incident, Indian Air Force Garud Special Forces have been positioned. The Army and Jammu and Kashmir police troops are engaged in the operations against terrorists involved in the incident.
"An Indian Air Force vehicle convoy was attacked by militants in the Poonch district of J&K, near Shahsitar. Cordon and search operations are underway presently in the area by local military units. The convoy has been secured, and further investigation is under progress," the Indian Air Force said in a statement.
Five Indian Air Force personnel sustained injuries in the terror attack and have been airlifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur for further treatment," Officials said.
The injured troops are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Indian Air Force vehicles that came under attack by terrorists in the Poonch sector have been secured inside the air base in the general area near Shahsitar, an official said. (ANI)
