J-K: BSF conducts cleanliness drive at Ramnagar Railway Station under 'Swachhta Hi Seva 2024' campaign

Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 15 (ANI): Border Security Force (BSF) carried out a cleanliness campaign at Ramnagar Railway Station in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district.
The cleanliness drive was conducted in Udhampur under the 'Swachhta Hi Seva 2024' campaign on Saturday.
Inspector General, Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) BSF, Udhampur, Rajesh Kumar Gurung, speaking to ANI, said that more than 500 personnel took part in the cleanliness drive.

He also urged people to keep public places clean, just like we maintain cleanliness in our homes and premises.
"Under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' programme, we have brought more than 500 of our personnel here to keep the station clean... The message from our side is that just like we keep our premises and house clean, we should also keep public places clean," Inspector General Gurung told ANI.
In related development, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the launch of 'Swachh Bharat Mission', the Department of Justice is launching a campaign of the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign, 2024 (SHS 2024) from September 17 to October 2, as per a press release from the Ministry of Law and Justice.
The theme for Swachh Bharat Mission 2024, "Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata," seeks to reignite the spirit of collective action and citizen participation in cleanliness efforts across India.
"In connection with Swachh Bharat Mission 2024, all the officers/Staff of the department will be administered the 'Swachhta Oath" led by the Secretary (Justice) on September 17 at 11:00 hrs," the statement said.
During the campaign period, officers and staff of the department will perform "Shramdaan," involving deep cleaning of the building of the Jaisalmer House complex. Unclogging of the sewerage system, beautification of the area by painting all plant pots, deep cleaning of all staircases, fixing all loose wires, cleaning of upholstery, deep cleaning of all pathways, working space and arranging records are also planned.
"Minister of Law Justice (I/C) has requested the Hon'ble CJI and CJs of various High Courts for the active participation of Hon'ble Supreme Court and other Courts of the country in this campaign. The campaign of SHS 2024 will culminate with a Shramdaan on 02.10.2024 on Swachh Bharat Diwas, to honour the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and make Swachhta a way of life," the statement said. (ANI)
