J-K assembly elections: Three-tier security arrangment for counting day in Udhampur

A three tier security arrangement has been implemented at the counting venues to ensure a smooth vote count on October 8 in the district, police said on Sunday.

Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 6 (ANI): A three tier security arrangement has been implemented at the counting venues to ensure a smooth vote count on October 8 in the Udhampur district, police said on Sunday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amod Ashok Nagpure explained that two locations have been designated for the vote counting process, Government Degree College Boys and Government College for Women, Udhampur.
"A three-tier security system has been implemented at the counting venues. In the first layer are troops of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), in the second layer are guarded by State Armed Police, and in the third layer are troops of district police . At both strong rooms, and Counting halls Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) level officers will supervise security arrangements," said a statement by the Udhampur district police.
Additionally, traffic restrictions have been put in place with special traffic arrangements being made to divert any incoming traffic.
"Special traffic arrangements have been made for the counting day he added. Traffic will not be allowed within a 100-meter radius and has been declared a "No Pedestrian Zone of both strong rooms and counting centres,". Only those with proper identification cards will be permitted to enter the counting centres. The SSP mentioned that a detailed traffic plan has been prepared for the day, which will be communicated to citizens soon to avoid any inconvenience," the statement read.
The SSP also assured the people that the vote count will be conducted peacefully due to extensive measures taken by the district administration and the police. (ANI)
