J-K: Army Chief reviews security situation at Akhnoor Sector

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 14 (ANI): Continuing with his approach to meet all the commanders up to the local level, General Bipin Rawat on Saturday visited the Akhnoor Sector.
The Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat, accompanied by Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, Army Commander, Northern Command was briefed by Lieutenant General Saranjeet Singh, GOC (Division Commander) White Knight Corps, and Major General MK Mago, GOC (Division Commander) Crossed Swords Division and other Formation Commanders on the operational preparedness, prevailing security situation and actions being undertaken to ensure a robust and effective counter infiltration grid.
The Chief of the Army Staff also reviewed the measures and Standard Operating Procedures instituted and being followed by the units and formations. He commended the field commanders for ably confronting the challenges posed by the inimical elements and complimented them for their professionalism and selfless commitment.
Speaking to ANI a senior officer said, "Army Chief is following a strategy to form a bridge between the local formations and the New Delhi based Integrated Head Quarters of the Army so that there is a semblance in the communication for better operational and administrative decision making."
The Chief of Army Staff exhorted all ranks to continue to work with same zeal, enthusiasm and dedication to overcome the challenges. (ANI)
