J-K: 2 terrorists, active accomplice killed in encounter

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Oct 17 (ANI): Two terrorists, their active accomplice and a police constable were killed during an encounter in Syed Ali Akbar area of Fateh Kadal on Wednesday. The operation was jointly conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Oct 17 (ANI): Two terrorists, their active accomplice and a police constable were killed during an encounter in Syed Ali Akbar area of Fateh Kadal on Wednesday. The operation was jointly conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
On a specific input of terrorists' presence in the area, a cordon and search operation was laid by the security forces during which two police and CRPF personnel received injuries. The civilians were evacuated from the area.
While search operation was going on at the target location, terrorists made indiscriminate firing from inside. In the ensuing gunfight, constable Kamal Kishore of the Jammu and Kashmir Police lost his life.
The eliminated terrorists and the active accomplice have been identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Bangroo, Fahad Mushtaq Waza and Rayees Ahmad.
Bangroo, a resident of Narparistan Fateh Kadal, had a long history of criminal records pertaining to terror-related activities. He was also involved in several terror attack cases including a series of grenade attacks.
Waza was a resident of Akilmir Khanyar and was also involved in several terror-related incidents.
Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of the encounter. Police have registered a case and investigation has been initiated. (ANI)
