Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 1 (ANI): After President Droupadi Murmu visited Ram temple and offered prayers, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple chief priest Acharya Satyendra Das said he felt great witnessing the President's devotion to Ram Lalla.
President Murmu offered prayers to Ram Lalla at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya on Wednesday evening.
"It felt great. The President had the darshan. Seeing how devoted she is to Ram Lalla - she performed aarti, bowed before Him and offered prayers - only someone devoted to Ram Lalla can do that...I think this is amazing. This is a lesson to all devotees of Lord Ram - how devoted the Prime Minister and President are to Lord Ram..."
When asked about his personal experience, he said, "Since I heard that our President is visiting here I was very happy. With her visit, the glory of Ayodhya and all Ram devotes has increased."
During her visit to the temple President Murmu performed aarti and bowed before the idol of Ram Lalla. She performed all the rituals.
After performing rituals, members of the temple authority offered the President a miniature replica of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and a framed photo of the idol of Ram Lalla.
Ahead of this, President Murmu performed the Sarayu Pujan and aarti on the banks of river Sarayu. There she was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.
The President has been seen performing rituals and offering milk and 'aarti' to the Sarayu River.
Earlier in the day, she also offered prayers at the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya. Notably, this is her first visit to the newly built temple. On the arrival of the President at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, Governor Anandiben Patel received the President. (ANI)
