Kochi (Kerala) [India], September 29 (ANI): In the world of IT today, the number of people neglecting their physical and mental well-being due to their hectic lifestyles is very high. However, in contrast to this trend, a group of techies at InfoPark is actively embracing Kalaripayattu as a means to nurture both their bodies and minds.
Acsia Technologies, an automotive tech brand from Kerala, embarks on a transformative journey to empower its workforce through the ancient art of Kalaripayattu. Over 50 employees newly recruited through campus placements are gearing up to embrace this traditional art form and share the profound heritage of Kalaripayattu under the guidance of Gurukkal  S Mahesh.

After attending the programmes, the employees will acquire practical skills for a healthy, stress-free lifestyle, self-defence techniques, and fortified self-confidence instilled with a warrior's mindset. Also, group training sessions instill teamwork, camaraderie, and a profound sense of unity among employees. Furthermore, the incorporation of valuable self-defence techniques into this training will also be advantageous, especially for women.

Successful program graduates will receive certification from the Indian Knowledge System Center for Kalaripayattu and Siddhar tradition, administered by Agasthyam Kalari and Trinity College of Engineering.
“This idea arose from the realization that maintaining physical and mental health is the most important thing,” said Jijimon Chandran, Founding Director and CEO of Acsia Technologies.
Jijimon Chandran is the visionary behind this concept. The prospect of joining a training program rooted in both scientific principles and Kerala's rich tradition led the company to explore Kalari.
Earlier employees working at Acsia Technologies headquartered in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, were given similar training as a rejuvenation programme upon returning to the office post-Covid.
Employees themselves have testified that Kalari training helps in increasing concentration and relieving mental stress. It was in this context that Kalari was included as part of the training of newly recruited employees. With the success of this too, it was decided to extend the initiative to other Acsia Technologies centres including Bangalore.
Initially, we used to wonder why we needed to learn Kalari as software engineers. However, as A S Sreeshna and Teresa Roy noted, "Our perspective has shifted entirely. Back when we began, our limbs ached, and some of us even walked into the office with a noticeable limp. Today, All of us are excited. It's not just physical benefits we've gained; mental well-being is equally crucial. Moreover, this training is particularly empowering for women, as it includes self-defence lessons to enhance our safety." (ANI)
