Gurugram (Haryana) [India], November 7 (ANI): Foreign affairs expert Sushant Sareen shared his insights on the US presidential election on Wednesday. The foreign affairs remarked that the issues former US president and Republican candidate Donald Trump raised appeared to have resonated with voters, potentially paving the way for Trump to become President for a second time and make a remarkable comeback.
Speaking to ANI, Sushant Sareen said that the convictions against Trump seem to have had little effect on the US electorate.
"I think the trends suggest that the path for Kamala Harris' presidency is becoming increasingly narrow & it's almost getting blocked. It looks like Donald Trump will become President for the second time which is a remarkable comeback, given that all the cases that were instituted against him, all the campaigns were carried out against him, the hounding, the way he was being pushed against the wall, the kind of convictions that were made against him, all of that seems to have not mattered with the electorate in the US. The issues that he raised seemed to have worked with the people and that is why, if you see the number of votes he is getting and the kind of support he has got, I think it is becoming quite clear that he is going to be the 47th President of the United States," he said.
Meanwhile, Trump has reportedly secured well above the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the presidency.
This would mark only the second instance, and the first in over 100 years, of a leader winning the presidency after a prior loss. Grover Cleveland served non-consecutive terms in 1884 and 1892.
In his address, Trump expressed gratitude to the people, stating that he wouldn't rest until he delivers a "strong, safe, and prosperous America." (ANI)
