Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) [India], December 20 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi criticised Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleging that due to the latter's actions Lok Sabha BJP MP Pratap Sarangi got injured during the protests at Parliament premises.
"Due to irresponsible and objectionable behaviour of Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, our senior party leader and Lok Sabha MP from Balasore Shri Pratap Sarangi got injured. Such actions of Rahul Gandhi are not only unacceptable but it is also an insult to the sacred house of democracy," read Majhi's post on X.

"I pray for the speedy recovery of Sarangi and strongly condemn such acts in Parliament. This type of violence has no place in a democracy," the CM said.
BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi alleged that he was injured after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi pushed another MP, who then fell on him. Sarangi claimed that he was standing near the stairs when another member of Parliament (MP) fell on him, leading to an injury on his head.
"I was standing near the stairs when Rahul Gandhi came and pushed a fellow MP. That MP fell on me, causing me to fall as well," Sarangi told reporters.
Reacting to the allegations, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that he was trying to get inside the Parliament when he was also pushed and threatened by the BJP MPs who were protesting near the entrance. He also alleged that Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge was also pushed.
"I was trying to go inside through the Parliament entrance, but BJP MPs were trying to stop me, push me and threaten me. This has happened...Yes, this has happened (Mallikarjun Kharge being pushed)," Rahul Gandhi told reporters.
Both the Congress and BJP have filed police complaints against each other. BJP has accused Gandhi of "assault and incitement," whereas Congress alleged that Kharge had been pushed. (ANI)
