Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 18 (ANI): The cultural landscape of Srinagar is set to shine once again as the second edition of the International Film Festival of Srinagar (TIFFS) received an overwhelming response from across the globe.
Within a span of under 24 hours, the festival received an impressive total of 160 entries from 30 countries, a testament to the global appeal of this upcoming and promising film festival in the region.
With the prestigious Jammu Film Festival as the consulting partner, TIFFS has already set the benchmark with its first edition held in October 2022.
TIFFS is all set to take place from October 25 to 26, 2023, at Tagore Hall in the captivating city of Srinagar, often referred to as the Venice of the East.
The festival, which successfully put Srinagar on the international film festival circuit with its debut edition, continues to garner attention and admiration from filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinephiles alike.
Commenting on the remarkable response, festival directors Rakesh Roshan Bhat and Rohit Bhat expressed their delight, stating, "We are truly thrilled by the overwhelming participation and support that TIFFS has received for its second edition. In addition to the numerous short films and documentaries, TIFFS has received 8 feature films from countries such as the United States, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Iran. Besides the big countries like the US, China, Russia, Germany etc.
TIFFS has received entries from countries like Egypt, Tunisia, Austria, Cuba and Argentina too.
Beyond the cinematic screenings, TIFFS will host a series of engaging panel discussions, workshops, and networking events, fostering meaningful interactions among filmmakers and enthusiasts.
