Integrated Defence Staff celebrates 17th Raising Day

New Delhi [India], Oct 1 (ANI): The Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) celebrated its 17th Raising Day on Sunday where Chief of the IDS Lieutenant General Satish Dua paid tributes to the fallen soldiers at the Amar Jawan Jyoti in the national capital.

Integrated Defence Staff celebrates 17th Raising Day

New Delhi [India], Oct 1 (ANI): The Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) celebrated its 17th Raising Day on Sunday where Chief of the IDS Lieutenant General Satish Dua paid tributes to the fallen soldiers at the Amar Jawan Jyoti in the national capital.

The Chief of 'Integrated Defence Staff' to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) was appointed on October 01, 2001 and Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) came into existence based on the recommendations of the Group of Ministers.

The headquarters is staffed by officers and personnel from the three Services, the Ministry of External Affairs/Indian Foreign Service, Defence Finance/Defence Accounts Department, Department of Defence (Ministry of Defence) and the Department of Defence Research and Development (Ministry of Defence).The decision was taken to fulfill the need for an institutional framework for higher management of defence forces.

Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff also functions as the principal arm and secretariat to the Chief of Staff Committee. (ANI)
