Abu Road (Rajasthan) [India], April 17 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday praised the Brahma Kumaris, saying they are doing a great job of helping security forces personnel find ways to overcome stress and calm their minds as the country is safe because of the sacrifices and efforts of our security forces.
Addressing the National Dialogue and Theme Launch Ceremony on 'Self-Empowerment through Inner Awakening for Security Forces Personnel' organised by Brahma Kumaris, the Union Home Minister said that India has become the 5th largest economy in the world and soon we will become the 3rd largest economy.
"After 75 years of independence, our country has become the 5th largest economy in the world and soon we will become the 3rd largest economy, and we hope that when we celebrate 100 years of independence, we will be number 1 in every field... Every person has the potential to fulfill this dream and our culture has the power to unite the soul with the divine and our country should aim to move forward in this direction. Institutions like Brahma Kumaris are doing a great job in this direction," Shah said.
"Our country is safe because of the sacrifices and efforts of our security forces... They take care of internal and external security, but this causes them considerable stress... Brahma Kumaris does a great job of giving them a way to get out of this stress and calm their mind, body and soul," he added.
Earlier today, Amit Shah addressed the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Day Parade as the Chief Guest at Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, and recalled the supreme sacrifice made by 2,264 CRPF personnel in the service of the country, paying tribute to them on behalf of the grateful nation.
Shah said that India is moving towards becoming a leader in the world in every field by 2047, and the sacrifices of martyred CRPF personnel have significantly contributed to achieving this goal. Shah said that the immortal saga of the bravery of CRPF bravehearts will be inscribed in golden letters in the golden book of 100 years of independence.
He said that the CRPF personnel have always made a supreme sacrifice to maintain the unity and integrity of the country. "That is why the presence of CRPF personnel at the places of unrest builds confidence that they will certainly emerge victorious," he said.
Amit Shah stated that in the 76-year history of India's independence, there have been numerous occasions when the CRPF has protected the country's honour and pride.
He said that on 21 October 1959, CRPF soldiers were killed in the line of duty while fighting the Chinese army in Hot Spring, Ladakh, and that is why all the police forces of the country celebrate 21 October every year as Police Smriti Diwas.
"In 1965, CRPF soldiers were posted at Sardar Post in the Rann of Kutch who gave a befitting reply to the Pakistan Army, and that is why every year on April 9, the whole country celebrates Shaurya Diwas," he said.
Amit Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India has taken several steps for the welfare of all CAPFs. (ANI)
