"Inspiration for various backward-class people...": PM Modi pays tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary

"Babasaheb Ambedkar is an inspiration for various people belonging to the backward classes. He made us realise that to achieve anything, it's not necessary to be born into a wealthy family. Instead, in India people born into poor families can also dream and work hard to fulfil their vision," PM Modi said in the video posted on X.

New Delhi [India], April 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, on his birth anniversary, saying "he is an inspiration for various backward-class people."
"Tributes to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Jayanti. Jai Bhim!" the Prime Minister posted on X.
"There were times when people tried to stop him and strived that a poor man belonging to a backward class would not move forward. However, the image of the new India is completely different. This India belongs to Babasaheb Ambedkar, to the poor, to the backward class," he added.
Highlighting different initiatives, the Prime Minister said that the dream of industrial power that Babasaheb Ambedkar dreamt of is an inspiration for the people of India.
"Today, the Make in India campaign is running successfully in the country. Ambedkar Ji's dream of industrial power is an inspiration for us. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar believed in urbanization. He strongly believed in self-reliance, AatmaNirbharta. Today initiatives such as Mudra Viswas, Startup India, and Standup India are inspiring our young innovators and entrepreneurs. On behalf of nation and the all the countrymen, I pay my tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar," PM Modi said.
Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891, and so every year on this date, India celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti.
Babasaheb's birth anniversary is a public holiday across the country, where schools, banks and some public sector organisations remain closed.
Fondly known as 'Babasaheb', Ambedkar was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and so is also called the 'Father of Indian Constitution'.
Not only was he the creator of the Indian Constitution, but Ambedkar was also the first Law and Justice minister of free India.
Babasaheb was born into an impoverished Dalit Mahar Family in Madhya Pradesh. He fought tirelessly for the equal rights of marginalised sections of society. He was a part of active movements since 1927 against untouchability. Later he was revered as a 'Dalit Icon' for his contributions towards their rights. (ANI)
