Bhilwara (Rajasthan) [India], August 6 (ANI): BJP MP Saroj Pandey, a member of the panel constituted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who visited Bhilwara accused the Rajasthan Government of negligence and the deteriorating law and order in the state, adding that the Gehlot government is an insensitive and dead government".
A four-member committee of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) women MPs on Saturday met the family of the victim of the Bhilwara incident.
A minor was gang raped and brutally murdered and her burnt remains were found in a coal furnace at Narsinghpura village in Bhilwara earlier this week.
Police have arrested seven persons on charges of gangrape and murder of the minor girl.
The minor was allegedly gang-raped and burnt to death, the police said earlier, adding that her charred remains were found inside a coal furnace in Bhilwara district.
Police said some locals found the charred remains of the girl and her bangles inside the furnace.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Locket Chatterjee on Sunday slammed the Rajasthan government over the Bhilwara incident.
Chatterjee said that the Gehlot government should resign.
"It is brutal. We cannot express it. I met the family. There are no words to express...The government is silent. Nobody is speaking a word. Had the Police been alert, they would have perhaps saved the girl. Congress speaks about other states but not about what is happening in their own states. The entire country is looking at Rajasthan, the Gehlot Government should resign...", said the BJP MP.
Moreover, the other BJP MP Saroj Pandey who visited Bhilwara said that "It is a heinous crime. There was Government negligence, they didn't give compensation or meet the victim's family. They didn't take it seriously."
She further stated that "No action was ever taken against the constable who should have been suspended. Priyanka Gandhi, who gives the slogan of 'ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon' doesn't say anything about this. Gehlot government is an insensitive and dead government..."
Furthermore, BJP MP Kanta Kardam said that this incident is very sad and the administration has not come here to date.
"We met the family and the girl's parents...The administration has not come here to date. Locals say that they went to the Police Station when the girl could not be found, but they were not listened to. Had the administration been alert, this incident could have been averted...Action should be taken. This Government should be dismissed..." she added.
Earlier on Friday, the BJP constituted a four-member committee of its women MPs for an investigation into the incident where the burnt body of a minor girl was found in Bhilwara.
The committee constitutes of Saroj Pandey (Rajya Sabha MP), Rekha Verma (Lok Sabha MP), Locket Chatterjee (Lok Sabha MP), and Kanta Kardam ( Rajya Sabha MP).
The committee is to submit its report to the National president of the party, JP Nadda.
Some people allegedly killed a minor girl and later burned her body in a coal furnace in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district, the police said.
According to officials, the incident took place in Narsinghpura village under the Shahpura Panchayat of the district on Wednesday, and locals found the remains of the girl's body and her bangles.
Locals suspect that the girl was first raped by the accused, who then killed her.
However, the police have so far arrested seven accused in connection with the alleged gangrape and murder case of a minor girl in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district, chief minister Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday. (ANI)
