Abhay Singh Chautala

Chandigarh [India], Nov 17(ANI: Chandigarh: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Saturday announced to launch 'Adhikar Yatra' from December 1 to press for the completion of Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal. Talking to reporters here after a party, INLD MLA and Leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala said, "In February the party will also organize a rally, which will be bigger than the one organized in Gohana, Sonepat, on October 7."
Earlier addressing the party workers and leaders, Chautala said that he was not running after power and was not a candidate for the job of Chief Minister. He said that whenever the INLD-BSP would be called upon to form a government, he would approach Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala to nominate a chief ministerial candidate from among the senior leaders of the party or any person of his choice.
Commenting on the recent happenings in the party, he said that the party's state unit chief Ashok Arora was a witness to his efforts to bring those back to the party fold who had become tools in the hands of anti-party forces. He said to have gone to the extent of meeting Ajay Singh Chautala and offering to step down from the post of Leader of Opposition and elect his sister-in-law in his place.
But all his efforts to maintain unity had failed and now the party workers who have made great sacrifices during the past fourteen years have given their verdict by reposing faith in Om Prakash Chautala and castigating those working against him and the memory of the late leader Chaudhary Devi Lal, he said.
