"India's Republic is India's pride": Lok Sabha Speaker greets nation on Republic Day eve

New Delhi [India], January 25 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday greeted the nation on the eve of Republic Day.
Om Birla said that "Republic" is not just a word but the foundation of the country.
"Heartiest wishes to everyone on India's 75th Republic Day. Republic is not just a word for us, but it is the foundation of our nation. India's Republic is India's pride. In our journey over the last seven and a half decades, the Republic of India has continuously become stronger and prosperous. From agricultural fields to sports fields; from land to space, India has set new standards for the world," Speaker Om Birla said in his message.
Om Birla said that India has moved towards self-reliance in the past 75 years.
"In these 75 years, with the contribution of every class and individual, India has moved towards self-reliance. In these 75 years, we have achieved many things, turned adversities into opportunities and are moving forward as a successful nation," he said adding that the social fabric of the nation has become stronger.
"Our democracy has become more prosperous. There has been a socio-economic transformation in the country," he said.
Stating that we must remember our national heroes on the occasion, Om Birlas said, "We must know the historical journey of the Republic of India, be proud of it and pledge to strengthen the Republic by actively participating in the democratic process."
India gears up for a momentous platinum celebration of the country's Republic Day on Friday with an enthralling showcase of its military prowess and rich cultural heritage at the majestic 'Kartavya Path' in the national capital. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the country in the grand celebrations of its journey of Amrit Kaal that began post the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations to commemorate 75 years of the country's independence.
